Jr. Arts Assistant – Semiahmoo Arts Society

Position Reports to: Executive Director

This position will assist the ED, instructors and office staff, and work independently, to build meaningful relationships with our community, and consider how audiences will be best served, challenged, and represented by the programs we offer. The Jr Assistant will provide ongoing support in all areas of Arts programming, and will include duties which occur outside regular office hours.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Jr Arts Assistant works directly with the Executive Director to ensure on-going management of the programming of Semiahmoo Arts Society, specifically the provision of day-to-day assistance with other Arts Council programs and events.

Responsibilities:

Assists in the organization of Semiahmoo Arts programming, exhibitions and facility events.
Assists in the running of Semiahmoo Arts programming, exhibitions and facility events.
Performs other related duties from time to time, as required.

Qualifications:

As an umbrella organization, Semiahmoo Arts invites candidates who have a passion for providing both artists and the general community with a local arts council that enriches and enhances the community with a resource for visual, performing, film and literary arts, as well as a facility to be used to provide arts based programs.

Skills pertaining to this position include:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in person, and in writing
Ability to work effectively with the public, members, volunteers, staff and board members
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong organization and time management skills
